Covid calendar

Planning for a fishing trip this summer means anticipating the future of Covid and the BC Provincial Health guidelines.

Here is a link to the BC Restart Plan .  https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/covid-19/info/restart .

I'll dare to summarize it with some highlights, but please take a look yourself .  All the dates stated here are meant to be understood to mean at the earliest, if vaccination rates and lower infection rates improve as expected.

Step 1.  May 25 to June 15 .   Announced after the May long weekend.  Many outdoor activities and some indoor activities in small groups are allowed without masks, which aligns with our fishing activities .  However, travel between regions, even within BC, is not allowed .

Step 2.  June 15 to July 1 .  Recreational travel within BC allowed.

 Step 3. July 1 to Sept 7 .  Canada wide travel .

 Step 4 .  After Sept 7 .  Near normal .

Note that there is no mention of when international borders might open .  Also, there is no mention of  the possibility of lower restrictions for those people who are vaccinated.

Also, FYI, I have had my first vaccination May 1, four weeks ago, which gives a great degree of protection to you, and to me . And the anticipated date for my second vaccination is July 1.
